The festival will run from May 12 to May 18 at Burswood Park. The Swan River and the Perth city will provide a spectacular backdrop to a week of cultural and business activities for the whole family.
Burswood Park will be transformed into a dazzling marketplace, with delicious Chinese cuisine, performances, cultural demonstrations and kids’ activities – including kite flying, lantern making and lion dancing – to ensure that there is something on offer for everyone.
Opening with dragon boats thundering down the river in a gala celebration, the event is an opportunity to see some of Western Australia’s top dragon boat competitors in action in one of the world’s fastest growing sports.
Each evening, the Golden Koala Film Festival will show a range of contemporary Chinese cinema at the Movies by Burswood outdoor cinema, with talks by international film directors. All proceeds will go to Telethon.
The festival will also include the China/Australia Business Forum and an Architects and Construction Forum, which will build on close industry links between WA and China.
The festival finale on Saturday, 18 May 2019 will include spectacular displays of lanterns, lotus flower ceremony and fireworks.
