Musical event ‘One’ mesmerizes audience

Nagpur: The magic of euphonious songs was recreated by the talented singers of Sonorous group at its maiden event titled ‘One’ at Madhuram Hall of Mor Hindi Bhavan on Wednesday.
The singers showed versatility in presenting Hindi, English, Marathi, Koli and Bengali songs.
The programme started with Bengali song ‘Ei din to jabe na’ that set the tone for the evening. Other songs like ‘Phulon ki rang se’, ‘Gunji si hai’, ‘Yeh zameen ga rahi hai’ and the famous song ‘My heart will go on’ from the movie Titanic took the audience to a different plane.
Duets ‘Janeman Janeman’, ‘Shayad meri shadi ka khayal’, ‘Tujhe na dekhoon toh chain’, ‘Pyar mein kabhi kabhi’, ‘Tu mere saamne’ and ‘Mi dolkar dolkar’ raised the level of excitement of the audience. Presentation of songs such as ‘Zara sa jhoom loon main’, ‘Dilbar mere’, ‘Mere dholna’, ‘Aaj ki raat mere’ and ‘Solah baras ki’ got an encore.
Music enthusiasts enjoyed the songs ‘Yeh raat mein jo’, ‘Moh moh ke’, ‘Better when I am dancing’ and ‘Saathiya tune kya kiya’. The event concluded with the song ‘Meri soni’ which enthralled the listeners.
The singers were Sama Salav, Prasanna Nair, Suborna Ghoshal, Riddhi Lohe, Padmakar Maske, Jaya Dhabekar, T Balakrishnan, Ashish Chopra, Gagan Puri, Prashant Waliokar, Sonali Santra, Vidya Gawande, Ashmita Shiwalkar and Prasun Das.
The accompanying artistes were Ajit Bhalerao (keyboard), Mahendra Watulkar (octopad), Sudhir Aamnik (tabla) and Gaurav Rangari (guitar).
The event was conceptualized and organized by Rupali Roy. Anil Bhojwani was the anchor.

Earlier, the programme began with the garlanding of a portrait of Goddess Saraswati by Sanjay Uttarwar, principal of VIT College. Arup Mukherjee, president of International Council for Human Rights, was the chief guest.
