Student of the Year 2 stars Tiger Shroff, Tara Sutaria and Ananya Panday.

With Student of the Year 2, Bollywood songwriting has set a new benchmark. Whether this is good or bad depends on your taste in music. The titles should have been an indication of what to expect - with songs titled Mumbai Dilli Di Kudiyaan, The Hook Up Song, and Jatt Ludhiyane Da, you get an idea of what sort of lyrics to expect.

Starring Tiger Shroff, Tara Sutaria and Ananya Panday in lead roles, Student of the Year 2 is set to release on Friday. It comes hot on the heels of producer Karan Johar’s infamous all-star flop, Kalank. While both films occupy a different space in the marketplace, Karan’s unique brand of entertainment will have to prove its relevance in a post Avengers: Endgame world.

For songs and trailers to inspire memes is also a matter of opinion - it can be seen as either positive or negative, but as they say, all publicity is good publicity. That being said, each and every song from the film so far has been ridiculed online for its absurd lyrics. So ahead of the film, we’ve compiled some of the best lines here.

The Jawaani Song

We all gettin’ crazy
Ajj ki raat ki raat thodi amazin’
Turn up the lights and the sound
Get aloud shout it out
Cause we all gettin’ crazy

Mumbai Dilli Di Kudiyaan

Dil mein bhara hai aise disco disco disco disco
Paani pyaara ho jaise fish ko
Jab se dekha hai maine tujhko
Tab se lagta mujhko poori karne aayi hai wish ko

The Hook Up Song

Le le le lele number mera
Baad mein message mujhko kar dena
Khudko samajh ke lucky
Mujhse hookup tu kar le na

Jatt Ludhiyane Da

Soneya haule se chal zara
Fursat se main taad loon
Cornea nazaran ve bach zara
Aa tujhko main waar loon

Anvita Dutt has been credited for four songs from the soundtrack album - The Jawaani Song, Fakira, Main Bhi Nai Soya and Jatt Ludhiyane Da - which has been composed by Vishal and Shekhar.
