NOIDA | GREATER NOIDA: The CEO of Noida Authority, Alok Tandon, has been appointed as the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) chairman. The post fell vacant after the retirement of Dr Prabhat Kumar on April 30. Kumar was the chairman of YEIDA for about two years.Tandon, a 1986-batch IAS officer, has over 30 years of experience in long-term project and resource management and negotiations with regulatory bodies. He has also headed a public sector organisation in the power sector for four years.
As the CEO of Noida Authority, from September 2017, and the managing director the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC), Tandon was at the helm of the Aqua Line launch. The corridor was inaugurated by chief minister Yogi Adityanath on January 25.
He was also the CEO of Greater Noida Authority (additional charge) for a few months last year, following the transfer of the then CEO, Debasish Panda, and Partha Sarthi Sen Sharma till Narendra Bhooshan took over.
An electrical engineer, Tandon, as the Noida Authority CEO gave nod to many key underpasses, overbridges and elevated roads across the city.
As YEIDA chairman, he will chair the next board meeting, scheduled to take place after the elections.
