CHANDIGARH: Denying the release of any election manifesto, AAP candidate Harmohan Dhawan on Tuesday assured that if people show their faith in him then he will transform the health and education system of the city on the lines of Delhi model. He said that if given chance, he will also ensure mass participation in preparation of Chandigarh Budget. Taking a jibe at Bansal and Kher, Dhawan said that both of them have completely failed to fulfil their commitments, made in their election manifestos in the past years during the previous
Lok Sabha elections and thus all key issues are still haunting the residents.
“We will improve the health and education
infrastructure completely and improve the basic amenities of the citizens of the Chandigarh on the lines of Delhi government, if given chance. Currently, there is acute shortage of teachers in schools. Since hundreds of medical tests and medicines are given free of cost to people in Delhi, we will ensure the same happens here as well,” Dhawan said.
While interacting with the media on Tuesday, Dhawan said all the core issues of the city such as conversion of leasehold properties to freehold, need-based changes in Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) houses, sanitation issues, traffic woes and so on are not resolved. He added that both Bansal and Kher have phased out the Panchayati system from the city.
Avoiding to give any direct comment on the ‘Railgate’ issue, Dhawan said, “Perception of people have emerged on the Railgate issue and it is a general perception. Moreover, I won’t comment much on the the same.”
