A 43-year-old woman from Kolkata, West Bengal, allegedly ended her life in a lodge at Vansthalipuram on Wednesday morning. Vanasthalipuram police said that the woman was staying away from her husband and had applied for divorce. She had got acquainted with a person named Lokesh from Punjab through a social networking website in the year 2017, said police sub-inspector P. Raju.
Meanwhile, the woman was also friendly with another youngster from Kolkata, who was pursuing B.Tech from an engineering college in Moinabad.
Lokesh and the woman decided to move to Hyderabad and therefore they came here and rented a room at a lodge in Vanasthalipuram on May 6. Incidentally, the youngster from Kolkata too reached Hyderabad to clear backlog subjects in engineering and was staying in the same lodge.
Lokesh suspected that the woman was chatting with many others through social networking websites and they argued over this frequently. The youngster took away Lokesh from the lodge and asked an worker in the lodge to keep a watch on the woman as she was disturbed.
The employee knocked on the door multiple times in the night but she did not open the door. “He knocked the door again on Wednesday at around 7.30 a.m. She opened the door and collapsed on the ground. He shifted her to the bed and informed the youngster about the incident. They reached the room at around 11.30 a.m. and found her hanging,” SI Raju said.
