A man died and four persons were seriously injured when their car fell into a ditch near Shiradi village on the Mangaluru-Bengaluru NH 75 in Uppinangadi Police limits on Tuesday afternoon.
The police have given the names of the deceased as Sunil, 30, from Bengaluru. Sunil was driving the car and his friends, Naveen, Manu, Ramesh, and Prashanth, all from Bengaluru, were the other occupants of the car.
According to a complaint, they had reached Dharmasthala early in the morning and later proceeded to Kukke Subrahmanya. They were returning to Bengaluru when the incident occurred near Kodyakal in Shiradi village.
The stretch of NH 75, between B.C. Road and Addahole, off Shiradi, is under expansion to be made into a four lane.
