NEW DELHI: The S&P BSE Capital Goods index was down in Wednesday's afternoon session.

Shares of Siemens (down 3.41 per cent), GE T&D India (down 3.19 per cent), Dilip Buildcon (down 3 per cent) and Kalpataru Power Transmissions (down 2.65 per cent) were the worst performers in the index.

Sadbhav Engineering (down 2.62 per cent), NBCC (India) (down 2.22 per cent), Suzlon Energy (down 1.89 per cent) and SKF India (down 1.62 per cent) too were trading with losses.

The S&P BSE Capital Goods index was trading 0.44 per cent down at 17,852.99 around 12:09 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 80.65 points at 11,417.25 while the BSE Sensex was down 280.73 points at 37,995.90.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 10 were trading in the green, while 40 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, DHFL, Dish TV India, ZEEL, Reliance Capital, YES Bank, PC Jeweller, TV18 Broadcast, Suzlon Energy and BHEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
