Dasa Sahitya Seva Pratishtana in association with Ramakrishna Mission is organising
Dasa Namana, a three-day programme on
Haridasa Sahitya dance and music festival at Swami Vivekananda auditorium from May 10.
The event will start with rendition of Dasavani by 100 artists who have trained under the Pratishtana followed by the inauguration of event by Swami Jitakamananda, president, Ramakrisha Mission.
MS Gururaj, the convener of the foundation told reporters on Wednesday that M B Puranik, the honorary president of the Pratishtana will preside over the inaugural function. This will be followed by Dasavani by Karnataka Rajyotsava awardee M Husain Sab Kanakagiri. On Saturday, Malini Prasad will present Dasa Kusumanjali followed by ‘Vyasa-Dasa Vaibhava’ featuring Keerthana Holla and its interpretation by Be Na Vijayendrachar.
The final day will see day-long activities starting with Dasa Zhenkara featuring Roopa-Deepa sisters from Bengaluru. Kolhapur Pavamanachar will give a lecture on
Dasa Sahitya – genesis and its specialty. M S Giridhar and Vasudha Giridhar from Bengaluru will present Dasa Sinchana. This will be followed by Dasa Narthana by district Rajyotsava awardee and upcoming talent Ayana V Raman from Moodbidri, Gururaj said.
Rajesh Padiyar from Mysuru will present Haridasa Vani as the penultimate part of the event and this will be followed by the valedictory function. Swami Jitakamananda, Puranik and Surendra S Wagle, journalist will be guests. The event will conclude with Dasa Dundubi featuring eminent singer M Krishnendra Wadekar from Hubballi. The programme has been designed to inculcate interest in ‘Dasa Sahitya’ among the masses, he added.
