The health ministry and the board of governors in the Medical Council of India (MCI) on Wednesday reduced the qualifying marks for NEET-PG for 2019-20 by six percentile across all categories. This means, now general category candidates with a minimum mark of 44 percentile, persons with disabilities (PWD) category with minimum of 39 percentile and SC/ST and OBC category candidates with 34 percentiles will become eligible for admission to post graduate (PG) medical courses (MD/MS/DNB) for the academic year 2019-20.
Earlier, the cut-offs were 50, 45 and 40, respectively. As the new relaxation in percentile will be applicable for the fresh process, it will benefit thousands of students.
