In a shocking incident, a 55-year-old doctor was arrested by Versova police for allegedly raping and blackmailing a 22-year-old model.
According to the Hindustan Times, the woman and the doctor met at the end of 2017 through a mutual friend, after which they became friends. The woman’s friend referred her to the accused in 2017 for skin treatment. The doctor also rented a house in Versova for the woman. “During investigations, we found that some money was transferred to the woman’s account by the doctor. The complainant said that the doctor on one occasion took some pictures of her, eventually using it to blackmail her,” a police officer told the leading daily.
The cops have said that the accused raped the woman and used the pictures to blackmail the model if she thought of approaching the police. The after which registered a complaint with the police last week and acting on the complaint the police arrested the doctor on Sunday from Chembur. The cops are investigating the matter and gathering evidence to file a charge-sheet in the case.
