Gucci celebrated their newest makeup launch with a disco-themed party

Held at an all-night club in uptown New York, the party had a rocker chic dress code and celebrities like Dani Miller and Jared Leto in attendance

If the Metropolitan Museum of Art was the place to be in New York on Monday night, Doubles Club was where it all went down on Saturday. Gucci Beauty’s newest campaign was feted with an all-night disco at the private dining and dancing club in the city’s uptown area. For the advertisement campaign directed by photographer Martin Parr, Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele cast Dani Miller, lead singer of band Surfbort, along with models such as Mae Lapres, Achok Majak and Ellia Sophia. They were all present at the party, and joined guests like Florence Welch, Petra Collins, Tali Lennox, Hari Nef, Debbie Harry and Jared Leto as they danced and drank cocktails at the ’70s-themed bash.
At the party, attendees got to try out all of Gucci Beauty’s 58 new lipstick shades at Gucci Global Makeup Artist Thomas de Kluyver’s vintage-inspired makeup stations, after which they decorated a mirror (and each other!) with lipstick kisses.
Dani Miller starred in the much-talked-about ad campaign for the launch, which saw a punchy, creamy lipstick painted on her toothy grin, with broken, yellow teeth that fall out of the conventions of beauty advertisements. In conversation with Vogue, Miller said, “Your flaws are not actually flaws. Yes, there are traditional beauty standards, but if you don’t fit into that, you can still have a party with your quirks and celebrate yourself.” Scroll through the gallery below to take a closer peek inside Gucci Beauty’s launch party.
