Number of students appearing for the University of Hyderabad (UoH) courses has reached 55,600 so far, much more than last year’s 52,000-odd applications.
There are more female applicants this time.
The highest applications were from general category students (22,184) followed by OBC (18530); SC (8844); ST (5043) and EWS (999).
Four transgenders apply
Of these, 27,148 are boys and 28,448 are girls while four are transgenders.
The entrance exams will be held from May 27 to 31 at 31 centres across the country. There are 2,220 seats on offer for admissions to 120 courses. These include 16 integrated courses, 42 PG courses, 14 M.Phil, 9 M.Tech and 39 Ph.D. programmes.
