The results of both the Indian School Certificate (ISC) exams for Class XII and the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) for Class X were announced on Tuesday. Tamil Nadu recorded a pass percentage of 99.57 in the ISC exams and 99.79 in the ICSE exams.

Candidates from 83 schools took up the Class X exams and candidates from 49 schools took up the Class XII exams in the State.

Students from Chennai topped Tamil Nadu in both the ISC and the ICSE exams. N. Shivakumar and R. Akshatha both scored 99% and topped the State in the ISC Class XII exams.

Akshatha, a student of Sishya, scored full marks in computer science, physics and mathematics and an overall score of 494 marks. “While I studied for at least seven hours a day, I ensured I made a schedule and stuck to it. It wasn’t just about books for me in the last three months and I ensured I read or listened to music to unwind,” said the topper, who is looking to pursue computer science.

A student of Chettinad Hari Shree Vidyalayam, Shivakumar scored full marks in mathematics, physics and computer science. “The exams weren’t too stressful for me since I had started preparing right from the start. Consistent work helped me immensely,” said the cricket lover, who also plan to study computer science.

Megha Dinesh, a student of Sishya, scored 98.75%. Three students, S. Priyanka from Ida Scudder School, Vellore, Sweta Chakravarthi from Chettinad Hari Shree Vidyalayam, Chennai, and G.M. Shibi from St Jude’s Public School, Kotagiri, scored 98.50%.

As many as 1,646 candidates from across the State took up the ISC exam.

In the ICSE Class X results for Tamil Nadu, Ansh S. Nanavati, a student of Sishya, scored 493 marks and topped the State. As many as 3,831 candidates from across the State appeared for the exams and girls once again secured the higher pass percentage of 99.94.
