The woman in uniform stood and watched as another, a civilian, grabbed a man by the back of his shirt, dragged him around the narrow Jamshedpur street, and attacked him with a slipper.
When the man was later ushered into a car, the woman dropped her slipper, wore it and walked away.
ANI reported that the man had posed as an Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officer and asked the woman for Rs 50,000. She called him on the pretext of giving him the money to have him arrested, the newswire said in a tweet on Wednesday, May 8.
Footage of the incident, filmed in Jamshedpur's Mango area, also showed the alleged fraudster being attacked by a man, who threw him onto the street and beat him with a stick.

The woman complained that the suspect had asked for Rs 50,000 on the pretext of helping her out with a family problem, a local police officer said.
He claimed to be from the ACB and also had fake ID cards, the officer said.
The police are interrogating the suspect.
