Coimbatore: A 23-year-old woman was found hanging at a house in Masakalipalayam in the city on Wednesday morning. As the hands of the victim were tied together, police suspect it to be a murder.
The deceased M Subbulakhsmi, a native of Thoothukudi, was staying at her sister’s house and working at a private concern in Hopes College area. “As her sister and brother-in-law had gone out of station, Subbulakshmi was staying alone in the house. On Wednesday, the neighbours turned suspicious when the woman remained shut in the house till mid-day and knocked on the door. As there was no response they peeped into the house through a window and found the body hanging from the ceiling fan,” said an official from police department.
The police reached the spot and recovered the body after being alerted. The police official said that the back door of the house remained open. “As the hands of the deceased were tied together, it is impossible for her to hang herself. So, we suspect it to be a murder,” he added. The police have filed a case .
