students in schools run by the Greater
Chennai Corporation recorded a 93.52%
pass rate this year, which is 5.9% more than last year’s pass percentage.
Out of the 4,833 corporation students, 4,520 passed. The pass percentage of boys is 89.7% and that of girls is 95.63%.
One student scored centum in computer science. The corporation-run higher secondary school at Nesapakkam achieved 100% pass percentage.
Corporation officials said that the credit for the better results this year went to teachers, headmasters and headmistresses as they had put in extra efforts to train students after the new syllabus had been introduced.
