Three persons died in two separate accidents in Anantapur district on Wednesday, while another woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping before a running train.
According to Ramagiri police. a container lorry rammed another stationary container lorry parked on the road following a break down, at Mamillapalli Crossroads on National Highway No. 44 in the early hours of Wednesday. The cleaner of the stationary lorry, Hemanth, 20, hailing from Kaveripuri in Karnataka, and the driver of the other lorry Pulla Reddy, a native of Bondaladinnne in Anantapur district, were killed in the accident.
The police said both the lorries were proceeding to Bengaluru from Anantapur. The highway was immediately cleared with the help of crane. The cleaner of the stationary vehicle was filling air in the front wheel at the time of the accident.
In another accident, a newspaper distribution vehicle hit a two-wheeler at Yerradoddigangamma bridge in Kadiri town leading to the death of Rajasekhara Reddyin the early hours.
Knocked down
One person died and another was injured when a KSRTC bus hit a two-wheeler they were travelling in Uravakonda in the district on Wednesday. According to the police, while the bus was entering the Bus Complex in the town, the two-wheeler collided with it leading to grievous injuries to Somappa and Obulapathi. Both of them were shifted to Anantapur Government General Hospital for treatment, where Somappa died while undergoing treatment. The police have registered a case.

A 51-year-old woman, Lakshmi Devi, allegedly committed suicide at Yellanur Railway gate by jumping in front of a train in the early hours on Wednesday. A resident of Jaya Nagar in Tadipatri town of Anantapur district, she was said to be not keeping good health and added to that some family disputes could have lead to the extreme step, the locals said.
