Class X ICSE topper wants to be biotech researcher

Ludhiana: Sanshika Garg of Sat Paul Mittal Public School outdid around 5,000 others in the district by bagging the first position in Class X final exam conducted by Indian Certificate of Secondary Education.
Ward of a city-based industrialist, she secured 98.4% marks, making her school and parents proud. Sanshika got full marks in computer application, 99 in all three subjects – maths, science and social studies — and is now looking to pursue the medical stream.
Elated by the result declared on Tuesday afternoon, Sanshika told TOI, “It feels like my hard work has finally paid off. I was able to score well because of my habit of waking up early in the morning and studying regularly for three to four with full dedication and concentration.”
“If students are fully focused on classrooms studies, then they would not need any coaching institutes because the school staff is quite supporting and helps in every way. I want to become an advanced researcher in the field of biotechnology which works for the betterment of the modern world,” said the teenager.
Sanshika’s feat was followed by Suhavi Chawla of Sat Paul Mittal Public School, who has secured 98.2% marks — perfect score in maths and 99 marks in both science and social studies. She used to study for at least five to six hours daily.
“My success mantra is to follow a strict studying time table every day while keeping aside activities such as of watching television or surfing the internet and social networking sites,” said Suhavi.
She added, “I want to be a doctor and work towards treating the poor by providing them high-standard services. My school staff has also played a crucial role in my attaining success. My teachers helped us with doubts and gave us several useful tips for the exams.”
Parnab Fateh Puria, who preferred late-night studying during the exams, bagged a high score of 97.8%.

He secured a perfect score in computer applications, besides 99 in science. Sharing his passion for accounting and his father being his inspiration, Parnab said, “I try to follow in the footsteps of my father who is a chartered account and is managing the accounts of highly-placed professionals and businessman of the city. I too want to pursue CA and works under the guidance of my father.”
“I used to study for seven to eight hours daily and completely relied on self-studying. I used to be attentive in the classroom and always tried to clear my doubts with the subject teacher. Most importantly, I kept my goal in mind,” he said, adding that he would always attend to other co-curriculum activities in school.
