Nagpur: Dedication towards his goals made
Rachit Kadam, a student of Bharti Krishna Vidya Vihar, score 87.2% marks in Std X. Despite undergoing two back-to-back eye surgeries, Rachit never gave up on his dreams. He accidentally got hurt by a tennis ball in his childhood, but did not realize until Std X that he is suffering from retinal detachment.
He had to go Chennai to get the damage cured. Due to this, he had missed his school for three months which caused him huge academic loss. During his treatment, he had to apply a gel which wouldn’t let him open his eyes for 16 hours.
Like other students, Rachit was unable to study late night and early morning as the lens which he had to wear worked only for seven hours. Constant support and cooperation by his parents and teachers kept Rachit going through his painful process.
Talking to TOI, Rachit said that his parents never pressurized him to get good marks. After undergoing treatment, his only focus was to get into a disciplined routine to make up for the academic loss and not crib about the pain he had gone through in the past.
Through perseverance and self-confidence, Rachit proved his talent. He wants to become a charted accountant.
