Home invasion horror: Couple move house after being targeted in violent robbery as police release footage of suspect in a bid to crackdown on crime wave

  • CCTV shows at least six thugs invading a Melbourne home before stealing a car
  • Residents Natalie Sawyer and her partner were forced to move out of their home
  • Thugs took off with Ms Sawyer's Hyundai hatchback, which her partner chased
  • Police have released CCTV footage of two other home raids the following day

A couple say they have been left with no choice but to move out of their home after they were robbed by a gang.

Natalie Sawyer and her partner are moving out of their north Melbourne home of two years after six thugs invaded the property and stole her Hyundai hatchback on Saturday morning.

Footage has captured up to six people jumping Ms Sawyer's back fence, with one wearing a hi-vis top.

The group took off with her hatchback, before her partner chased after them, 7News reported.

'I actually feel sick to my stomach doing this right now,' Ms Sawyer said as she packed her belongings.

'It just makes you feel unsafe and shows that you're just not safe anywhere.

'I've had enough.'

A father and son living in Taylor's Lakes were robbed of their 2016 blue Mitsubishi Lancer on Sunday.

CCTV footage then picked up on their stolen car pulling up at a Wollert home, where a man was seen walking out and knocking at the front door.

The man then is seen fleeing the property after he realised the occupant was home.

Nearby resident Sandy Kaur and her 15-month old daughter were then confronted by a man with a hammer just moments later, after their front door was smashed.

The man who invaded Ms Kaur's home matched the same description of the man seen at the previous home.

Police have not arrested or charged anyone at this stage.
