Girls outperform boys in CBSE class 10 results

AGRA: Out of total 13,156 students in Agra district, more than 90% have passed the CBSE class X examination with several schools in the district achieving 100% result.
Four girls have scored highest marks in the district. Ankita Datta of Air force School (AFS) topped the district with 98.8 % marks while the second position is shared by three girls—Ayushi Singh, Shreya Maurya and Muskan Srivastava, who each scored 493 out of 500 marks.
Shubhanjali Paliwal, principal of the Air Force School where Ankita Datta studies, said, “We have been informed by the CBSE city coordinator that our student Ankita Datta has emerged to be the topper in the district. We are extremely happy as we have achieved 100 % result this year. Several students have scored full marks in Mathematics and other subjects.”
Ayushi Singh, who shares the second position with other two girls, expressed delight over the result and hoped to achieve similar performance in class XII.
“I have been a studious person and made consistent efforts to achieve high score in the board exam. I focused only on NCERT books for preparation and did a lot of revision. Now, my target is to achieve similar performance in class 12,” said Ayushi, whose father Rajvir Singh is an associate professor at RBS College and mother Krishna Singh is a housewife.
When asked about her future plans, Ayushi said, “I want to serve the society and the only way I can achieve that is by becoming a doctor.”
Muskan Srivastava, who also secured second position, said, “I did not take any tuition and studied by myself. I used to cover the topics that were taught in school on the same day. I did a lot of revision and never took studies as burden. I restricted myself from using social media to avoid any distraction.”
Srivastava said she wants to become a doctor has started preparing for it.
Ayodhya Singh, father of Shreya Maurya, said he is extremely happy with the result.

“Shreya had studied hard throughout the year. She remained motivated and always tried to give her full efforts in whatever she does. Besides studies, she is good at painting and essay writing. Like her brother, she wants to pursue B.Tech from IIT. Parents should not put unnecessary burden on their kids and should support them in improving their performance,” said Singh.
CBSE city coordinator Ramanand Chauhan told TOI, “92.4 % students have passed the class 10 exams in Agra district. Girls have performed far better compared to boys. Majority of the students scoring above 95 percent marks are girls.”
