All students in 599 of the 1,167 government schools who wrote the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination qualified for higher education, which is 82 more than last year.
All students in 713 of the 1,427 government aided school also qualified for higher education. Their number was 659 last year. In the unaided sector, 391 of the 458 schools saw all their students qualify. Last year, it was 389 schools.
In the Gulf region, of the 495 students who appeared for the examination, 489 became eligible for higher education – a pass percentage of 98.79.
In Lakshadweep
In Lakshadweep, of the 681 students who appeared for the examination, 599 qualified for higher education – a pass percentage of 87.96.
Of the 43,187 Scheduled Caste students who sat for the examination, 41,359 became eligible for higher studies, a pass percentage of 95.77, up from the 95.19% last year. Of them, 1,091 secured A+ in all subjects. As many as 7,066 of the 8,103 Scheduled Tribe students qualified for higher studies (87.2%), and 80% got A+ in all papers. In the SSLC (Hearing Impaired) examinations, 284 of the 286 students who appeared for the examination qualified for higher studies.
