The UAE has launched its Ramzan campaign in Yemen, which will include a package of charity and humanitarian initiatives that will benefit over 2.5 million people, including 1.5 million children and 5 lakh women.
The Emirates News Agency reported said that the campaign is the latest in a series of charity, humanitarian and development initiatives and campaigns, which is part of the UAE’s strategic humanitarian plan.
The Director of UAE Humanitarian Operations in Yemen has said that the campaign will focus on providing for the requirements of local people, and will include the launch of children’s Eid clothing projects as well as the donation of 5,000 food supplements to mothers and babies.
The UAE and Saudi Arabia are also providing a donation of 240 million USD to United Nations agencies, so they might deliver food and clean water during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Yemen, one of the Arab world’s poorest countries, has been devastated by civil war. The Saudi-led coalition has continued to wage its campaign against Houthi rebels, which takes a toll on the civilians, making Yemen the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.
