Harassed by husband and in-laws, 24-year-old housewife kills self

TIRUPATI: In a tragic incident, a 24-year-old housewife committed suicide by consuming pesticide at her residence at Paramaturu village under Bandiatmakur mandal in Kurnool district on Monday.
According to Bandiatmakur sub-inspector K Keerthi, S Rasool Bi (24) married S Uddur Basha, who earns his livelihood as an auto-driver in Nandyal about two years ago. The couple were residing at Gopal Nagar in Nandyal, along with Uddur Basha’s parents.
As the couple were childless even after two years of marriage, their married life started to experience troubles in the last few months and Uddur Basha and his parents started to harass Rasool Bi.
Unable to bear the harassment meted out to her by her in-laws and her husband, Rasool Bi left for her parents’ house in Paramaturu village in Bandiatmakur mandal recently.
Unable to tolerate the humiliation and vexed with her life, Rasool Bi committed suicide by consuming pesticide at her residence on Monday.
A case was registered by Bandiatmakur police, who shifted the body of the deceased to the local government hospital for postmortem.
