The maximum number of class 10 Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) students bagged full marks in social science. As many as 11,267 students secured full marks in this subject.
Nandini Bhat, principal of Gear International, said the social science exam was relatively easy and students were well prepared.
Dakshayini Kanna, principal of Harvest International School, said: “Students learn these chapters as a story and in the form of a mind map. They use multiple intelligence skills such as visual and auditory skills, and studying this subject is more like an exploration,” she said.
Bhavana Singh, a teacher at National Public School, Koramangala, said: “The question papers were similar to the previous year’s paper. However, the difficulty levels varied across the three sets that were prepared, which was unfair on students. Set one had a question that was much easier as compared to questions in sets two and three.”
Students found sample papers helpful as they carried application-based questions, which have been increasingly seen in the CBSE examination papers over the years, said Bhavana Pant, a teacher at Presidency School. The standard of the paper was better owing to incorporation of such questions, she added.
