Easha A. Pai swears by the do-it-oneself approach.
It was but natural that the young girl from Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Girinagar, shared the third rank at the national level when the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released Class X results on Monday.
Easha scored 497 out of 500 (99.4%) with centum in Maths and Science and 99 each in Hindi, English, and Social Science.
A resident of Ravipuram, she believes in the self-study mantra and made it to the top without tuitions. “With help from all my teachers and regular revisions, I was able to pursue my learning process without any hiccups,” said Easha.
For Maths, she worked on all previous question papers, besides resolving problems in question banks.
Story books
“I used to prepare my own notes for Science and Social Science by referring to various sources. English and Hindi learning was aided by the reading of story books,” she said.
Daughter of Anand Kumar Pai, a businessman, and Kavitha, a homemaker, Easha now plans to take up the Commerce-Maths stream.
“I want to do B.Com and become a chartered accountant,” she said.
Girija T.S., principal, Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, described Easha as a down-to-earth girl who could emerge topper without tuitions. “She is also a good dancer,” she said.
