CM promises traders to stop sealing drive if party wins LS poll

Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s nationalism is “fake” and “full of deceit”.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, the Delhi Chief Minister said, “Tax terrorism has destroyed business and financial system in the country.”

“Modiji’s nationalism is fake. It is full of deceit. Modiji has created a fake mayajaal [web] of nationalism... Go beyond this mayajaal and you will see the truth,” he said, adding that some traders want to vote for Mr. Modi citing nationalism.

“Modiji has a secret relationship with Pakistan — deep and internal. When questions are raised about it, Modiji gets the elected Chief Minister attacked. How can a Prime Minister, who gets an elected Chief Minister of the Capital attacked, be nationalistic?” he asked.

On May 4 evening, Mr. Kejriwal was slapped during a roadshow in West Delhi’s Moti Nagar and AAP has alleged that BJP and Mr. Modi was behind the attack.

‘Corrupt money’

“Income Tax and Enforcement Directorate notices are going to all traders across the country. Thousands and lakhs of notices are going. This is all done to extort money. Go after the corrupt, don’t send notice to every trader and portray them as thieves. Ninety-nine per cent of people want to work with honesty but system force them to be corrupted. The system has to be cleaned,” Mr. Kejriwal said.

Appealing to the trader community, he said, “Give all seven seats to AAP, I will stop sealing. Make our hand strong in the Centre and we will help Delhi’s traders. You [traders] supported Modiji till now, what did you get? Now support Kejriwal. Kejriwal will support you till his last breath,” he added.

Mr. Kejriwal said in Mayapuri, the party got a stay from the court and all traders there were happy about it. He said all steps taken by Mr. Modi in the last five years has been ending business. “He does not know how to run a government. Note ban was independent India’s biggest scam... He knows only to do media management,” Mr. Kejriwal said.

The Capital is going to vote on May 12.
