Breaking news tonight-- the man who was shot and killed by a spokane county sheriff's deputy over the weekend has just been identified as 25-year-old ethan murray... Spokane county sheriff's deputies say they were called to the "parkside at mirabeau" Apartments saturday night-- about a man who was bothering kids, and seemed to be high.... Twenty minutes after they got there -- murray was shot multiple times... And killed.

And tonight -- neighbors tell kxly they think the shooting could've been avoided.

They spoke with kxly's taylor graham today -- who's live at the scene with more on what they're saying.

Deputies say when they got here --that man ran away from them, through this fence here --to a nearby homeless camp.

That's where they say he threatened them -- and said he had something in his pocket -- so deputies shot him.keep in mind -- this all took place just yards away from this apartment complex --where crystal runions lives.she says -- she's called officers about this camp several times this year --with no response.now -- we don't know if the man shot was living here --but she believes -- if officers had made their way to the camp earlier --this may have never happened.
