Students from 15 juvenile justice institutions under the Women and Child Development Department who sat for the SSLC exam performed well, Health Minister K.K. Shylaja’s office said on Monday.
Of the 80 students who sat for the exam, 75 passed, the pressnote said.
After the results were announced, the Health Minister also visited the Sri Chitra Home at Pazhavangady.
Of the 26 residents who sat for the exam, 24 passed.
They were enrolled at the Fort Mission School and Government Fort High School among others, the pressnote said.
The students were given special attention academically and assisted with special classes in the evenings, the Minister said.
The Health Minister also drew attention to the Tejomaya project which is aimed at making higher education accessible to bright students in childcare institutions.
