She went on saying that the they should work for a transformation that together would guarantee the highest profitability and sustainability in the medium. In the long term it should allow them to maintain the position of the world leadership which the destination has today.
They wanted a permanent model that could respond to an environment with constant changes.Currently many Spanish firms were expanding and wanted to participate firsthand in the changes occurring in the Cuban tourism model.
There are Spanish companies from the tourism industry in Cuba which will act as agents stimulating the economy.
Tourism can be a source of foreign currency to finance sustained economic development. Additionally it can impact other sectors like agriculture, construction, transport, cultural heritage and trigger social inclusion.
To finance the island’s local currency priority development projects linked to the interests of Spanish companies she has announced a second fund of 375 million euros which is about 42o million U.S. dollars.
