98.54% pass rate in SSLC exams

District improves pass percentage, jumps to seventh slot in State

Kozhikode has slightly improved its performance in the SSLC exams this year as the district jumped to seventh slot from last year’s eighth slot in the State.

Of the 44,726 students who appeared for the exam, 44,074 cleared it when the results were announced on Monday. The pass percentage is 98.54. Last year, the pass percentage was 98. As many as 4,436 students scored A+ in all subjects. This too is higher compared to the 2018 figure of 4,120. As many as 96 schools scored cent per cent results, up from 84 last year. Of them, 25 are government schools.

Among aided schools, Memunda Higher Secondary School, Vadakara, had the distinction of the highest number of students writing the exam and clearing it. All the 880 students who appeared for the exam there cleared it.

Among government schools, Government Vocational Higher Secondary School for Girls, Nadakkave, Kozhikode, had that honour. All the 391 students who wrote the exam there cleared it.

Vadakara educational district improved its performance from last year, scoring a pass percentage of 99.3. Of the 15,489 students who appeared for the exam, 15,394 cleared it. As many as 1,647 students scored A+ in all subjects. Last year, 15,267 had cleared the exam from there with 1,543 scoring A+ in all subjects. Last year, Thamarassery educational district had the highest pass percentage. The performance of schools in Kozhikode educational district was reportedly not up to the mark.
