Minister is caught blocking a disabled parking space with campaign signs - in his latest nightmare blunder just days after congratulating himself from his own Facebook account

  • Campaign signs for a Liberal Party MP were placed on a disabled parking space
  • Hume division MP Angus Taylor has been accused of his carelessness online
  • One user claims Mr Taylor's campaigners ignored instructions to move away

Angus Taylor's campaign nightmare has continued, with the Energy Minister now under fire for taking up a disabled parking space with his campaign signs and staff.

Last week, the Liberal MP for Hume was ridiculed for congratulating himself from his own ministerial Facebook account.

A picture showing his campaign signs and some of his supporters taking up a parking space outside a pre-polling booth in Goulburn, about two-and-a-half hours south-west of Sydney was uploaded on Facebook on April 29.

'Angus Taylor showing how little he cares about disabled people in our community, instructing his staff to set up shop across several car parks including the disabled car park at the pre-polling place, ' someone wrote under the picture.

The user, who uploaded the image on April 29, claims staff at the adjacent Pet Barn store had asked the campaigners to move their signs out of the disabled parking bay but the request was ignored.

'I hope the local police issued him with a fine with a infringement notice because I am sick of having to park some distance away from where I need to go ...' one user wrote.

'Report it to the AEC [Australian Electoral Commission],' another wrote.

Just days earlier the Energy Minister was caught congratulating himself from his own Facebook account over his announcement of an extra 1000 car parks for rail commuters in Hume.

Among the excited posts responding to the announcement was one from the MP's official account, which said: 'Fantastic. Great Move. Well done Angus'.

It is believed the comment was meant to be posted from a fake Facebook account instead of the official one in a bid to fabricate positive reactions.

The post was quickly deleted but not before people on social media caught wind of the gaffe.

Multiple people took to social media to mock Mr Taylor over the Facebook fumble, with many repeating his post.

'What a great tweet Angus, Sincerely, Angus,' one person joked.

'You know PR isn't going well when you have to congratulate yourself,' another person said.

However, others jumped to his defence.

'Who says it's from the wrong account? May have done it on purpose?' one person asked.

A spokesman for Mr Taylor told Yahoo News Australia no vehicles were 'prevented from using the disabled parking space adjacent to where the volunteers were set up'.

Campaigners later moved to a space closer to the pre-polling centre.

Daily Mail Australia sought comment from Mr Taylor's office.
