The Future Of Car Design Looks Bright As High Schoolers Create Ultimate FCA Vehicles

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has announced the winners of this year’s Drive for Design competition which asked high school students to design a new vehicle which is the “ultimate expression of any FCA brand.”

The first place winner was Maximillian Cooper from Design and Architecture Senior High in Miami, Florida. He created the stylish Alfa Romeo Serpente which looks like a futuristic hyper car. It features an aggressive front fascia which flows into an aerodynamic body complete with a canopy-like greenhouse.

In second place was Mason Ross from the Kennedy Catholic High School in Burien, Washington. His unnamed Alfa Romeo features a small triangular grille that is flanked by slender headlights. Further back, the car has massive wheels and a distinctive X-shaped body.

Rounding out the top three was Vincent Piaskowski from Ernest W. Seaholm High School in Birmingham, Michigan. His Maserati Pescecane draws inspiration from sharks and it features a slender tooth-like grille and fin-inspired fenders.

All three students will receive a behind-the-scenes tour of the FCA US Product Design studios in Auburn Hills, Michigan as well as one-on-one time with automotive designers. Each will also receive a scholarship to attend the Precollege Summer Experience Transportation Design program at College for Creative Studies in Detroit. All three will also serve as junior judges at the EyesOn Design Car Show in Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan.
