2019 Mercedes GLS Goes On Sale In The UK, Priced From £73,995 OTR

Mercedes UK is now accepting orders for the all-new GLS and has also announced pricing details of its latest flagship SUV.

Customers are offered just the diesel-powered GLS 400d at the moment, with more models to follow on a later date. Pricing starts from £73,995 OTR, with three trim lines available: AMG Line Premium, AMG Line Premium Plus and the range-topping AMG Line Premium Plus Executive.

Power comes from a 3.0-liter straight-six with 325hp (330PS) and 516lb-ft (700Nm) of torque. 0-62mph (100km/h) comes in 6.3 seconds with the top speed set at 148mph. Mercedes claims 35.8 mpg UK combined and 208g/km of CO2 emissions.

AMG Line Premium models come with features such as MBUX Interior Assistant, air suspension, heated front and rear seats, Driving Assistance package, Burmester surround sound system, a set of 22-inch AMG alloy wheels, parking package with 360-degree camera, Keyless-Go, and a panoramic roof as standard.

The AMG Line Premium Plus adds MBUX augmented reality for navigation, Driving Assistance Plus package, heated and cooled front seats with massage functions, Rear Seat Entertainment System, heated front and rear armrests and more.

Finally, the range-topping AMG Line Premium Plus Executive models bring heated nappa leather multifunction steering wheel, heated and cooled multi-contour rear seats with massage functions, electric sunblinds in the rear doors, 23-inch AMG alloy wheels, an MBUX rear tablet and heated third-row seats.

The options list is as, you would expect, quite long and includes an £1,495 off-road package that adds a low-range transmission, torque-on-demand for the traction and dynamic control systems, inter-axle locking, downhill speed regulation, off-road ABS, and additional driving modes for off-road driving.

First-in-line UK customers are expected to receive their new Mercedes GLS 400d in the autumn.
