LUCKNOW: Pink was the colour of democracy in Booth 168 of Malihabad under Mohanlalgnaj Lok Sabha seat.

Women voters young and old thanked the administration for making the special arrangement. Apart from being reserved for the fair sex, the booth also offered voters welcome drinks and mehndi service.
For Zehra Hussain (40) going to vote with a two-year-old would have been a challenge otherwise. "But here, there was no queue. The booth had a waiting room and friendly female officials. Also on offer was a health camp and child care facilities," she said. Tehshildar Nikhil Shukla said there was a 7% increase in polling compared to 2014. "Every assembly segment should have one pink booth to encourage women to vote," she added.
