Punjab: Feud between two Army personnel turns bloody as one loses life

PATIALA: A feud between two Army personnel over a trivial issue turned bloody in the cantonment area where one of them lost his life after being hit with a wooden stick in the head.
Army Havildar T Mahesh Kumar (38) died while under treatment at the military hospital after he was attacked by Thakur Arjun Singh at around 10:30pm on Sunday.
A case under Section 302 of the IPC has been registered against the accused on a complaint filed by the deceased’s wife Geeta Ben at the civil lines police station.
SHO civil lines police station Ramandeep Singh said as per the complaint, the incident took place on Sunday night and soon after, the police were informed on Monday morning, a case was registered against the accused.
It has been alleged that the two army men got into a feud the provocation of which is still not known and soon Thakur Arjun Singh picked up a wooden stick and hit Mahesh Kumar in his head.
He was rushed to the military hospital were be breathed his last. Accused Thakur was placed under arrest on Tuesday and the matter is being further investigated.
