The Telangana State Council for Higher Education (TSCHE) on Tuesday announced that the notification for degree college admissions for academic year 2019-20 will be announced on May 13 with registrations for DOST (Degree Online Services Telangana) to commence from May 16.
Collection of fees and reporting to colleges by the students will be online from this academic year, informed DOST convenor and TSCHE vice chairman R. Limbadri. The decision was taken following a meeting convened at the secretariat under the chairmanship of higher education secretary B. Janardhan Reddy.
Also present at the meeting were TSCHE chairman T. Papi Reddy, who is also DOST chairman, Commissioner of Collegiate Education Naveen Mittal, vice-chairman V. Venkat Ramana, Vice-Chancellors of Osmania University, Kakatiya University, Mahatma Gandhi University, Telangana University, Palamuru University and principals of University College for Women (Koti), Government Degree College for Women (Begumpet) and BJR Degree College (Narayanaguda).
Introduction of payment gateway services of ‘T-Wallet’ has been introduced this year to decrease the financial burden on students. Special helpline centres are allocated to the government degree colleges to help students with admission process.
A common almanac will be prepared for and communicated to all universities for strict adherence. Classes for the under-graduate programmes are slated to commence from July 1, the notification added.
