Sheriff's deputies say Saturday night -- they responded to reports of a man who seemed to be high -- bothering kids playing at "the parkside at mirabeau" Apartments.

About twenty minutes later -- that man was shot dead at a nearby homeless camp --and neighbors say -- they think it could've been avoided.

The spokane county medical examiner just identified the man shot as 25-year-old Ethan Murray...the people we talked with here today are moms and dads --and they're terrified something like this could happen so close to their homes --pretty much right in their own backyard.
