AMBALA: A youth was stabbed to death while his brother was critically injured by some assailants near Sewa Samiti Chowk under Parao police station limits of
Haryana's Ambala district at around 10.30pm on Monday.
While Mohit, a resident of Khatik Mandi near Ambala Cantonment, succumbed to injuries, his brother Gaurav is undergoing treatment at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) at Sector 32 in Chandigarh.
On the complaint of Vishal Rajaura of Khatik Mandi, the district police have registered a case of murder and attempt to murder at Parao police station against eight identified accused Lucky, Payia, Nanu, Rishu, Rahul, Rohit, Sikander, and Kuldeep under Section 302, 307, 323, 341, 506 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
In his complaint to police Vishal stated, "My cousin brother Gaurav has a business of supplying batteries and lights on rent at a vegetable market near Batra Palace and one Nanu also has a business of vegetables in the same market. On May 5 and 6, my brother Gaurav had some heated arguments with Nanu, Payia, and Sikander related to the supply of some batteries. On May 6, at around 10pm when Gaurav and my cousin brother Jatin were heading home after collecting batteries when he was stopped near Sewa Samiti Chowk by Nanu, Payia and Sikander who started thrashing him. Jatin ran towards home and called Gaurav's elder brother Mohit for help who reached the spot. Suddenly, some more youths came on a bullet motorcycle and i-20 car and attacked Gaurav and Mohit with swords, sticks and knives. When some passers-by started gathering, the accused fled the spot while threatening to kill."
SHO Parao inspector Munish Kumar said, "The body of the deceased has been handed over to the family members after the post-mortem and Gaurav is now out of danger."
