Slash immigration, withdraw from the Paris climate accord, defund the UN: Bachelor In Paradise star Rachael Gouvignon urges fans to vote for her brother-in-law who is running in the Australian Conservatives party

Reality TV and politics rarely mix, but not if you're Rachael Gouvignon.

On Tuesday, the Bachelor In Paradise star threw her voice behind Australian Conservatives party Senate contender Jonathan Crabtree, who happens to be her brother-in-law.

Jonathan is a WA Senate candidate for Cory Bernardi's Australian Conservatives party.

And Rachael, 34, took to Instagram on Tuesday to urge her fans to vote for Jonathan in the upcoming federal election.

'My brother in law is the WA Senate candidate for the @auconservatives,' wrote Rachel.

She shared a picture of Jonathan, alongside his slogan, 'Bring back common sense'.

Rachael also listed facets of Jonathan's conservative platform, which includes 'keep our borders safe, stop foreign sell-outs, slash immigration, withdraw from the Paris climate accord, defund the UN, and defend free speech and freedom of religion'.

The Australian Conservatives is led by Senator Cory Bernardi, 49, who founded the party in 2017.

Senator Bernardi is a staunchly conservative Roman Catholic and former member of the Liberal Party.

Rachael most recently starred on the second season of Bachelor In Paradise, marking the second time that she had appeared on The Bachelor spin-off.

And last Friday, she spoke candidly about how she feels show producers gave her an unfair and inaccurate edit on the program.

The brunette sensationally claimed that producers 'completely screwed her character around' and made her appear 'crazy' and 'infatuated' with Richie Strahan.

'Obviously there's editing and everyone accuses editing [for their portrayal], but holy s**t... I've never been edited that much in my entire life,' Rachel claimed.

Explaining her decision to star on the show a second time, Rachael said: 'They didn't really edit me much last year, so I was like, "I'm going to go, because I think there'll be a really good outcome possibly".

'So I went again and it was basically s**t. Edited like a mother f**ker and I didn't feel people were there for genuine reasons. It was a fail.'

Bad edit? After failing to find love in Fiji, Rachael was booted from Bachelor in Paradise two weeks before the finale aired. And last Friday, she spoke candidly about how much she believed she was edited unfairly on the program
