Man plans robbery to satisfy paramour’s demands, arrested

The accused in custody
Vadodara: Dahod police late on Monday night arrested the second accused involved in the armed robbery bid at an ‘angadiya’ firm. The prime accused in the case has claimed that he had planned the robbery to get money to satisfy the demands of his paramour.
The accused had gone to the firm on Monday afternoon and the first accused Vasna Mavi from the Nelsur village had pointed a gun at the two employees present there. The other accused had pulled out a knife and even climbed on the counter at the office to threaten the employees. When the employees resisted the move and raised an alarm, the accused left the office.
Vasna was nabbed by people outside the police and tied to an electricity pole till the police arrived at the spot. It came to light that the other accused was Pintu Mavi, also from the Nelsur village, and had run away towards Indore Road. A police team traced him and held him before he could leave for Madhya Pradesh in a truck.

Vasna told the police that he had planned the robbery as he was in love with a woman who wanted him to either arrange for Rs 10lakh or buy a house for her. Since Vasna did not have money, he planned to conduct a robbery.
His brother had sent Rs 4,500 for him to the ‘angadiya’ firm and he was to go there to receive it. He allegedly planned that he would also rob the firm. Vasna is already married and has three children, but fell in love with another woman who made the demand for the house or money from him.
