
Over 62% voter turnout in fifth phase, explosions at polling stations in Kashmir, clashes in Bengal | Top 10 points
The fifth phase of Lok Sabha polls across seven states saw a voter turnout of over 62 per cent amid incidents of violence. Two explosions were reported from polling stations in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama while clashes between TMC and BJP rocked West Bengal.
With this phase, election is over in 424 seats and polling in the remaining 118 seats will be held on May 12 and 19.
Election to 542 Lok Sabha seats is being conducted in seven phases between April 11 and May 19. Election to Vellore constituency in Tamil Nadu had been cancelled by the EC following excess use of money power. Results will be declared on May 23.
