It happened just after 9, on south bird street ... just off west main.
Crews were on the scene within two minutes of the call... and but arrived to see flames already showing... from a second-story unit.
One person was reportedly trapped inside... but crews were able to get them out.
This morning ... one person was found dead on the second floor.

Three people are dead and another person is still missing this morning after a silicon factory explosion in illinois.
Two of those victims were from wisconsin.
It happened friday night -- at a-b specialty silicones - about 40 miles north of chicago.
Yesterday afternoon - rescue workers recovered the body of one of two people missing.
One more body is believed to be located in the rubble of the plant.
