Teen runs more than a mile for help after overnight Cass County crash

3 we start this half hour with breaking news out of cass county.the heroic actions of a 15-year-old may have saved a life.police say the teen ran more than a mile for help after a crash.around 1-o clock this morning deputies responded to a 9-1-1 call.an s-u-v traveling north bound on country road 600 east near north u-s 24 crashed into a cement embankment.you can see the area where that crash happened on your screen right now.sergeant brad craven with the cass county sheriff's office tells news 18 the s-u-v was the only vehicle involved.

The driver was unable to get out of the vehicle.the 15-year- old passenger ran more than a mile away to have their mother call 9-1-1.police and first responders at the scene had to pull the driver out of the vehicle.the driver was airlifted to a hospital in fort wayne complaining of leg pain.the injuries are non-life threatening.
