Have you always dreamed of staying in a royal residence?
Now that dream can come true if you are in Scotland and willing to pay for it.????Prince Charles is turning Granary Lodge in Scotland into a Bed and Breakfast on May 15.
The lodge is located on the grounds of Castle Mey.????
A once run down castle that was purchased by the Prince Charles’ Grandma, the Queen Mother in 1952 until she gifted it to the Queen Elizabeth Castle of Mey Trust.????Now he is opening the lodge up to the public with 10 luxury rooms. Right now, the prices on the rooms are going from 190 for the smallest room to 260 dollars a night for the Super King Suite.????While this is Prince Charles’ project, he will not personally be getting rich off of this bed and breakfast.
Clarence House made a statement: “The accommodation will be owned and operated by The Queen Elizabeth Castle of Mey Trust, and profits raised will go towards maintaining and operating the estate as a tourist destination in the North Highlands of Scotland.”????So he won’t be getting rich, but his castle will be maintained.
??????I wonder if he has ever considered taking a page from Highclere Castle and letting a production crew use it for a show like Downton Abbey?????Might be easier than tourists.??
