Disabled girl dies while returning home after appearing for NEET in Tamil Nadu

MADURAI: A 17-year-old disabled girl from Ramanathapuram district, who appeared for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test at a centre in Madurai on Sunday, died on her way back home.
M Santhiya from Pappanam village near Kamuthi swooned while the bus she was travelling in reached Tiruppuvanam in Sivaganga district, 20km from Madurai.
She was rushed to Government Rajaji Hospital here in a 108 ambulance. Doctors, who checked her, declared that she had been brought dead.
The body was handed over to her relatives on Monday after postmortem.
Santhiya’s father, Muniyasamy, told reporters that she had eaten food and was all well even minutes before she swooned.
The Thiruppuvanam police registered a case under Section 174 of the CrPc (suspicious death). The police said the reason for her death would be known only after they got the postmortem report.
