Liverpool's Salah, Firmino ruled out of Barcelona gameSHOWS: LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND, UK (MAY 6, 2019) (REUTERS - ACCESS ALL) 1. (SOUNDBITE) (English) JUERGEN KLOPP, LIVERPOOL MANAGER, SAYING: "Both (Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino) are not available for tomorrow. The approach, that we try to win the game, that makes sense. "The situation is with the 3-0 that Barcelona is obviously the situation that Barcelona not the situation you want to have before you play the second-leg, and you cannot play against Barcelona and tell the world 'watch this', after 10 minutes we are level and then we try and turn it around whatever, that's not likely. We try to win the game, and if the result in a specific moment gives us a opportunity to go to the next round I think we should try, until then we just have to try to play to win the game." 2. WHITE FLASH 3. (SOUNDBITE) (English) JUERGEN KLOPP, LIVERPOOL MANAGER, SAYING: "Precaution, no it's a concussion (Salah's injury). And that means then he will not even be allowed to play, so that's it, that's all. He feels okay but it's not good enough from a medical point of view, that's all. He's desperate and everything but we cannot do it, that's it." STORY: Liverpool will be without forwards Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino when they face Barcelona in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final as they look to overturn a 3-0 deficit, manager Juergen Klopp said on Monday (May 6). Egypt international Salah was carried off the pitch with a head injury in Saturday's 3-2 Premier League win at Newcastle United and has not recovered for the game against Barca at Anfield on Tuesday. Brazilian Firmino has a muscular injury and was not included in the squad for Saturday's game at St James' Park. "Both are not available for tomorrow," Klopp told a news conference. Salah is expected to feature against Wolverhampton Wanderers in Liverpool's final Premier League game of the season on Sunday but Klopp said the clash with Barcelona was too soon for the 26-year-old.
