This may come as a surprise as the previous Galaxy M devices have an Exynos chipset at heart.
Samsung’s next Galaxy M device is expected to be the Galaxy M40. The budget millennial-targeted device has been spotted on Geekbench which reveals that Samsung would go for a Qualcomm processor instead of Exynos.
The Galaxy M40 has been spotted a couple of times in the past. Latest specifications sourced from Geekbench listings reveal that the Galaxy M40 would have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 SoC under the hood.
This may come as a surprise as the previous Galaxy M devices have an Exynos chipset at heart. A Samsung device with a model number SM-M405F has been spotted on Geekbench with a single-core score of 2361 and a multi-core score of 6438. The listings also reveal that the Galaxy M40 would come with 6GB of RAM. The Galaxy M40 would be the first Galaxy M device to run on Android 9.0 out of the box.
The device was first spotted on the Wi-Fi Alliance website. Previously, Indian tipster Ishan Agarwal has confirmed that the smartphone would be making its way to the Indian market. Agarwal stated that the Galaxy M40 would launch in three colour options which would include Black, Blue, and Coral. The tipster further claims that Galaxy M40 would have a 128GB variant.
