State topper Arya wants to be an IAS officer

Nagpur: Arya Daoo was enjoying a regular holiday afternoon at her maternal grandma’s home in quaint Wardha district till the phone rang with an important news. Within minutes the Std X student of Bharti Krishna Vidya Vihar (BKVV) went from just one of the thousand CBSE students in Nagpur to a state topper. With an astounding score of 99.4%, Daoo now shares the top spot in Maharashtra with three others. She immediately rushed to Nagpur upon hearing the news and reached her school in the evening where proud teachers and principal were waiting to felicitate her.
A beaming Daoo said she wants to be an IAS officer and will opt for humanities in Std XI, as she believe the subjects in that faculty will help her achieve her career goal. For her results, Daoo believes that English subject proved to be a downer. “Science was a difficult subject, but I scored full marks in it. In English, I could manage only 98 due to which the overall marks got affected,” said Daoo.
With humanities faculty being her choice for Std XI, Daoo is convinced that staying in Nagpur is a better option. “Till Std XII, I will definitely remain in Nagpur and study in the field of my choice. After that, I may think of moving outside to prepare for civil services. I would prefer to continue in CBSE board only for Std XI because NCERT books are the base of everything,” said Daoo.
Her proud parents — Jayant and Gauri Daoo — said that if a child is given the right environment, then results will follow. The parents said, “There is no point in pressurizing the children as it will only add to their hardships. They will perform very well if the children are supported and a healthy environment is maintained.”
Principal, JV Nagalakshmi Devi said, “The hard work and dedication of Arya and her parents have resulted in such an achievement for her. She was in this school since fifth standard and since then she has been winning different competitions.”
